Steel Conservatory Bases

Conservatory cut-outs

by David Bingham on 27 August 2009

Bespoke ConservatoriesOver the years we have had hundreds of requests from our customers for a cut-out in their conservatory.

The most common reason for this is to allow the conservatory to wrap around a non-moveable obstruction for example, a chimney breast.

All our conservatories and conservatory roofs are bespoke (made-to-measure) and we specialise in difficult site situations which now form around 50% of all the conservatories we manufacture and supply.

A cut-out is typically formed by building a raised ring beam in to the roof and normally fitting a pre-fabricated welded box gutter around it which usually connects to the PVCu gutter which runs around the roof.

This technique is now common practice for us and we have done literally hundreds of them.

I came across a large conservatory roof over at our roof factory the other day which had a large cut-out assembly with box gutter, so I thought I would take a photo of it and post it on here. Click images to enlarge.
